Digital Inclusion

Improve your IT skills and troubleshoot at one of our Techy Tea Parties!

We know that many older people computer_learningare clued up and online – but everyone needs a little help once in a while.

That’s why we run our programme of Techy Tea Parties – a chance for you to get one to one support with your phone, tablet or any other piece of Tech.

Techy Tea Parties are hosted by our Corporate partners, whose helpful staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have, no matter how basic. Refreshments are provided, so all you have to bring is your phone, tablet or iPad.

Or, if you are thinking about getting one, come along and try before you buy.

Due to the nature of the events, we can’t always schedule dates and venues far in advance. If you would like to be advised of any upcoming Techy Tea Parties, please contact Alice to add your details to the mailing list.

As well as our Techy Tea Parties we are involved in a range of other Digital projects in the City.

From 2014-15 we were funded by the City of London Corporation to run City Smart, an intergenerational IT project – you can read more about it here.

As part of the legacy of City Smart we are continuing to work with the Bangladeshi community in Portsoken. Final details will be announced soon, but for more information please contact Alice Westlake on AWestlake@AgeUKLondon.org.uk or call 020 7091 2593.

We recently applied for funding from the Aviva Community Fund to expand our digital inclusion work. Our campaign video offers an insight into the importance of providing digital skills to older people in the Square Mile and the ways in which we go about this.
